The past three weeks have been insane! It’s crazy how fast time passes and how much I still have to do. My sister and her family came down this weekend.
This was originally suppose to be the date of my Hmong wedding, but it was moved back to October, a few months ago, because my partner fell ill and I took time off from work.
I guess it ended up working out better this way because I get extra time to just put my life together and to be in a better emotional and physical state.
We ended up getting a place in Joshua Tree and just spent two nights relaxing at a beautiful airbnb with my dog, sisters, partner, and nephew. And yes … as you can see I was super excited to be in the space! They had a pool table, cable TV, amazing service and air conditioning.
Yes, you read that correctly. Air conditioning.
Oh and a lot of memory foam things. Memory foam beds. Memory foam mattresses. Memory foam couches. lol.
At the last minute, I decided to do a family photoshoot with my sister and her family. We got there as the sun was setting so we had a twenty minute window to capture as much as we could. It was pretty difficult to get great shots on manual because the sun was consistently fading the entire session.
After we got back from Joshua Tree, my sisters and I went to an appointment, so that I could finally start bridal dress shopping. It was an interesting experience. I’m not used to my heavier body and hated almost all of the dresses I tried on. There was one dress, with pockets, that I really liked but it wasn’t enough to make me say “Yes.” I ended up rescheduling another session for the end of July, since I was so unhappy with this first appointment. I’m a lot pickier then I originally anticipated… oh wells.
As of today, I spent the rest of the day relaxing, blogging, editing photos, and mailing out the salves to the giveaway winners! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe July fourth. Love you all.
