My fiance and I spent about 45 minutes walking tonight. I am still processing all of the mixed emotions from the past week and a half and I’ve found that the only time I am at peace is when I pray or am in the silence of God’s creation.
I hope that this experience deepens my faith, grows my unconditional love, teaches me to see the light when the world grows dark, and helps me become a better future servant. I hope that when I become a parent (in the distant future), I will love my children compassionately and profoundly in a way that I never experienced. I can only change and be held accountable for my own actions. I can only hope that I will end the cycle of violence that has been passed across generations. So in all of this I pray,
“Lord, teach me to be patient, loving, trusting, and faithful. Soften my heart. Forgive me for my sins and those who have sinned against me. Deliver me and guide me through the darkness. In your heavenly name I will always pray. God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
If the oceans roar your greatness, so will I.
