One of my new year’s resolution, for 2017, was to do less damage to my hair. I transitioned all of my shampoos, conditioners, and hair product to sulfate/paraben free products. I have been minimizing curling/straightening/blowdrying my hair (avoids heat damage), minimizing high pony tails (avoids pulling out the root), and have been mainly using hair clips to hold up my hair (adds natural curls to my hair).
Progress: My hair has grown about three and a half inches this year. I trimmed approximately two inches off, throughout the the year, to encourage hair growth in case there were split ends. At the moment – it is growing in thick, voluminous, and coarse. I’ve been using Shea Moisture’s spray in conditioner to ease the frizziness for the colder seasons and it seems to be working well. This is the healthiest my hair has been in years.
I have a tendency of wanting to change my hair whenever I am stressed but I’ve held myself back multiple times this year! That’s a huge milestone for me.
I spent the past two weekends with my family and everything feels good right now.
