NYX Color Correcting Palette: swatch and initial thoughts

I finally wrapped the courage to purchase the NYX color correcting concealer.  I have spent months debating whether or not I should purchase this… primarily because I did not see the ‘need’.  There’s been a lot going on in my family this week – naturally I decided to retail therapy shop… and ended up with this in my hand at Target.  This sells for $11.99 and comes in two shades (I believe). I purchased the darker one of the two.  It has yellow (to cover blue or grey), green (to cover red), purple (to cover yellow tones), and a salmon (to color blue bags).

My initial impression is that the item itself is creamy. However, when blended, they all look very light/white on my medium skin complexion.  They work as brighteners – not necessarily neutralizers.  Once I blended this product in with my foundation – it looked pretty flawless but I really do not know how my skin will react to this in the upcoming days.  I do think it exacerbates dry patches (so highly recommend you do not use this product if you have dry skin).

Disclaimer:  For the most part, I’ve switched my diet, hair products, and body cleansers to organic chemical-free products.  I still haven’t moved my cosmetics over to that yet but I think that will be my 2017 goal.  I have oily skin – so finding a primer without silicon is virtually impossible.  I am trying to be more aware of animal-free testing products.
